PHONi – equalizer preamplifier for turntables

PHONi is an equalizer preamplifier for record playback with an equalization curve according to RIAA (DIN 45 541) in stereo design. Both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) pickups can be operated, with the gain being switched using a toggle switch. All inputs and outputs of the audio signals are designed as RCA sockets (cinch sockets). A switchable rumble filter was integrated to suppress annoying low-frequency noises (sub-bass). The filter is switched on and off noiselessly, even during operation. A plug-in power supply with a lockable barrel connector is used to provide power.

PHONi was developed to enable high-quality, trouble-free equalization of mobile and stationary pickups without the need for large equipment. The electronic development of the
PHONi was created by pro audio designer Roger Schult.
